Pharmacy Technicians completing this program should be better prepared to:

  • Describe the use of medication-assisted treatment in management of opioid use disorder
  • Identify patients who have potentially overdosed on opioids and how naloxone can be used as bystander rescue therapy
  • Discuss the history of the opioid epidemic, approaches tried in combatting it, and current thinking about best practices in this field
